So, who is this guy?
Hey! My name is Mr. Thompson, or just “Mr. T.” Believe it or not, this is my 20th year teaching! YES! I teach public speaking, English 10, and drama at BHS.
So, how did I wind up as a teacher? Just lucky, I guess… I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with BA in English and a concentration in writing.
I went back to graduate school to acquire my teaching license. I soon graduated with a Masters in teaching. My first teaching experience took me north towards Hartford for seven years when a struggling economy forced a change, which then took me to schools in Clinton and Kenosha.
Even though I student taught at BHS in 2003, I finally made it back in 2014-15. As far as my education goes, I still haven’t stopped. Not long ago, I finished my second Master’s degree in reading. I also just recently finished working on my reading specialist’s license (17). We’ll see where I go now!
Here you go. This should make me sound more “official”:
Education:
- BA in English with a concentration in writing from UW-Parkside
- MA in Teaching from Concordia University
- MA in Reading from Concordia University
Subject Licenses:
- 17 READING SPECIALIST
- 300 ENGLISH
- 316 READING TEACHER
- 320 SPEECH COMMUNICATION
- 952 ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION
More to come later…
